Giving back is what each of us is supposed to do and give back is what Denver Speakers Bureau intends to do! Starting in October, a monthly speaking event will be offered free to the community. Subject matter experts from a variety of fields will step forward and share their expertise with audiences. This month the topic is Parenthood. Whether you are a parent, plan to be a parent or just wants to be a better support system for someone who is a parent, this seminar is for you!

The first event will be held Saturday, October 19, 1:30-4:30 at the Parker Library (10851 S Crossroads Dr, Parker, CO 80134.) The talks are each 45 minutes with a 15 minute break in between. This allows speakers to answer questions or autograph books as well as allow the audience to take a break. With the understanding that many people don’t have a three hour block of time between soccer games, weddings, and other life events, you are invited to attend whichever time slot/s or subject most interests you. Reservations are appreciated but not required.

1:30-2:15- Doug “The Grateful Dad” Gertner presents How to Be (or Support) a Truly Involved Dad
2:30-3:15- (Ms.) Dale Skram presents Creating an Emotionally Safe Home
3:30-4:15- Mike Thompson presents Marching to Greatness as a Parent: Five Steps to Being a Great Parent

Again, the event is free to the public. Optional Yarn & Polar Fleece Donations will benefit the October Charity of Choice “Project Linus”. This charity was founded in Parker in 1995 by Denver Speakers Bureau’s Executive Director Karen Loucks Rinedollar and since has delivered almost 5 million handmade security blankets to seriously ill and traumatized children worldwide.

Roundhouse Distillery has graciously offered to sponsor this event. They have a seasonal pumpkin liqueur “The Pumpkin King” which will be available amongst their other products for tasting. Other products include an award winning gin (made with 12 organic botanicals), a barrel aged gin (which has more of the qualities of a whiskey thus being dubbed a Gin-Skey), and a coffee liqueur called Corretto. Products are available for purchase in most Colorado liquor stores or you can buy online for delivery to most of the United States through http://rhs.hostworks.net/?page_id=227

Next talk is “Gratitude” November 16, 1:30-4:30p, Parker Library, Charity: Parker Task Force. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more info please call 303-478-6652
